On the Hoof: Peake's lower body is closer to being filled out than his upper body. His body structure is similar to West Virginia signee Ivan McCartney, but with slightly thicker legs.
Needs Improvement: Needs to become a more effective and physical blocker on running plays. Peake could also improve his get-off in order to create space between himself and the defensive back quicker.
Most Impressive: Has excellent overall size and speed to go along with excellent hands. Peake has the body control and ability to catch the ball at its highest point with regularity. He will be a threat in the red zone, and is also able to make yards after the reception.
Conclusion: Receivers usually have the easiest path to early playing time of any position. Peake has the smarts and the size to learn quickly while still physically excelling on the gridiron. Look for him to become an all-league performer before his career is finished.

"Peake is one of the few receivers we have seen in this class that could be categorized as being "special" when it comes to his ability and upside at the next level. He is tall, smooth, lean and runs extremely well. He makes so many plays and no matter where he lines up at you better know where he is when the huddle breaks. He shows flashes of being dominant in all phases. He's at his best versus man coverage where he can use his speed to run by defenders and is a precise route runner for such a young player. He also does a great job versus cushion-- he's able to get defenders to bite with subtle moves and then run by them. Attacks alignment well. His ability to lower his weight and plant out of the break provides great separation on short-to-intermediate routes. He gets to top speed quickly despite being somewhat of a long strider. He does a decent job of dropping his hips for a tall guy and breaking off his routes quickly and coming back to the ball. He is a playmaker in the vertical passing game and has to be accounted for deep at all times. Really makes a lot of plays on sheer focus alone. He has very good hands. He catches the ball on the run and over his head as well as in traffic. Great leaping ability and will make a lot of plays on jump balls. Also displays excellent body control and sideline awareness. He has lined up in the "wildcat" and this offense does a great job of finding ways to get him the football. Overall, there will be very few players in this class with his combination of measurables, speed and knack for the position. He can still improve greatly as a route runner, but he has tools and instincts that are very, very strong. Outstanding prospect."

He also needs to work on his tackling. He can deliver big blows and slam ball carriers to the turf, but needs to work on wrapping up at times to secure more tackles. It is clear this is a good defender and a kid worthy of the attention he is getting. He also displays versatile and is able to make plays on defense, offense, and special teams, though the majority of his time in college will be spent at defensive end. He needs to keep working on some of the 'little things' that the position requires, but he is a kid capable of creating big plays and being a difference maker. His nickname is simply "JD", but 'Big Play J' may be a more suitable one."

Roderick Byers received his first scholarship offer from South Carolina earlier this month, and is receiving interest from a number of Football Bowl Subdivision schools including Michigan, Notre Dame, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, UCLA, Alabama, Miami, Florida State, North Carolina, NC State, Duke, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Wake Forest, Maryland, and others.

Byers plans to attend camps at Virginia Tech, Georgia, Alabama, Florida State, and possibly South Carolina this weekend.

Byers wants to get faster during his senior year. He has a goal of running a 4.60 by the end of the football season.

Carolina Panthers' defensive end Julius Peppers is the player that Byers says he gets compared to the most, but he says that he is more inspired by Minnesota Viking Jared Allen's "motor".

For now, Byers has one thing in mind for his team during his senior year.

"THE ULTIMATE goal is to be a state champion. I've come up short 3 years in a row playing in 3 upper state championship games and 2 state championship games so this year losing isn't an option."

With Roderick Byers and Gerald Dixon Jr. anchoring the defensive line, this will definitely be a team to watch in 2010.

Deangelo Henderson is a large part of the offense at legendary Summerville High School.

What does Henderson think the team needs for his senior year?

"For good chemistry, and leadership like we did this past year. We're losing alot of seniors this year so the returners are going to have to step up and make sure everyone is on the same page," stated Henderson.

Henderson plans to attend camps at USC and Clemson in the future, but he hasn't scheduled certain dates yet. USC, Clemson, NC State, and Duke are showing him the most interest right now.

Henderson's personal goals for his senior season include: "First, make sure my grades are good, then worry about football. As for football, I want to win a state championship. I've been working out everyday twice a day since we lost to Gaffney."

The shifty back has several people that he models his game after, and several people that are influences on how he plays the game.

"I have four people I look up to; Barry Sanders, Warrick Dunn, Coach Mulkey, and my father figure Reggie Kelly. Reggie Kelly always told me to just run hard and hold on to the ball. I watched alot of flim with him on Barry Sanders and Warrick Dunn. So I would say I try to be a running back like Barry Sanders."

Those are high expectations, but he just may have the skill set to do so.

Rexroad has been invited to numerous camps, and though he plans to attend some, he hasn't attend any yet.

Rexroad has a written offer from Florida International, and claims verbal offers from South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. He says he is receiving some sort of interest from "pretty much every BCS school".

Rexroad thinks he's in for a huge senior campaign on the football field.

"To be All-State. I have also been hinted from the director of the Army All-American game that I might be invited to play in that next year," said Rexroad. "So, I'll try to be an Army All-American, and get another state championship."

His team goals include working out harder, and to lead the team to a third in a row trip to the state championship game.

He tries to emulate his game after Cleveland Browns' offensive tackle Joe Thomas.

Shaw is so highly thought of that most think he's got the talent to come in and win the backup QB job as a true freshman. Thompson is raw, but has potential. But he signed with the understanding that he will start at QB, and if that doesn't work out, he could move to another position.

Marcus Lattimore - 5 stars

USC put all their eggs in one basket at running back, and it seems to have paid off very handsomely. Lattimore is thought to be the most ready runningback in the nation to come in and play right away. He will have his hands full trying to win the job from starters Brian Maddox and Kenny Miles.

Ace Sanders - 3 stars

Both Jones and Sanders will have a chance to play as freshmen because of their kick/punt return abilities plus USC's lack of a true slot receiver.

Quarles was an Army All-American, but I expect Surratt and Jerideau to be ahead of him on the depth chart for his freshman year. Jerideau is a junior college prospect who comes in with three years to play three. Surratt may be the most underrated player of this class, and will have a chance to get playing time as a freshman.

DE:
Corey Simmons - 2 stars

Simmons was a late addition to USC's class, but he has good bloodlines. His father played in the NFL for several years. Simmons could end up at defensive end, tight end, or defensive tackle.

LB:
Brandon Golson - 3 stars
Toquavius Gilchrist - 3 stars

Gilchrist is expected to come in and compete for a starting job and is also another junior college transfer that has three years to play three. Golson may redshirt, but he has undeniable pass rush skills, but he will need to time to learn one of the linebacker spots.

S:
Sharrod Golightly - 3 stars

Golightly is a smart player. He will probably take a redshirt year to add bulk.

CB:
Victor Hampton - 3 stars
Brison Williams - 3 stars
Cadarious Sanders - 3 stars

Hampton will probably come in and challenge for the third spot, though I still expect CC Whitlock to win that battle. Hampton and Williams have very bright futures. Sanders adds even more depth to this class.

USC hopes that Fish can come in and win the punting duties to take some of the stress off Spencer Lanning, but if he wants to win it, he'll have to beat out UNC transfer Jay Wooten as well.

Calvin Caldwell will graduate alongside Pat Martin in 2011, but before then he has some high goals for himself.

"I want 10 interceptions, and to be the top defensive back in this state. I want to be more consistent, and be a factor on both sides of the ball this year," said Caldwell.

Caldwell, one of the best cornerbacks in the state, will be playing alongside Pat Martin, one of the top safeties in the state, to provide J.L. Mann with a great defensive backfield. If the rest of the team can play up to the standards that Caldwell and Martin should, they will have a real chance at completing Caldwell's goals for the team this year.

"I want to win our region since we're moving up to AAAA and we'll be in one of the toughest regions in the state," Caldwell commented.

Caldwell plans to attend camps at Kentucky, and he considering camping at Vanderbilt, Michigan, and/or Duke.

NC State, Northwestern, Duke, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Michigan, and Syracuse are among the teams showing interest at this time.

Caldwell, a cornerback, wants to be known as a complete player, and wants to bring everything he has on defense like he says the players he models his game after do, former Tennessee Volunteer Eric Berry and Green Bay Packer Charles Woodson.

Gerald Dixon, Jr. is going to be a very highly recruited player out of Northwestern High School. He has a half brother (Gerald Dixon) who plays defensive end for South Pointe High School.

Dixon goals for Northwestern's football team in his senior year are to win the regional championship for the fourth time, win the city championship (against South Pointe High and Rock Hill High), and the state championship. He said that the Trojans have been to the state title game twice, just to come up a little short.

The rising senior defensive tackle plans to attend some camps, but hasn't decided on which ones yet.

"I want to be 6'3/280/4.8, and I want to get stronger and quicker," said Dixon.

Dixon has an offer from South Carolina, and is receiving a lot of written interest from teams such as North Carolina, Duke, and NC State.

His father played linebacker for the USC Gamecocks and spent ten years in the NFL playing for the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, San Diego Chargers, and Oakland Raiders.

Dixon models his game after the 2009 Heisman runner-up Ndamukong Suh from Nebraska.

Pat Martin will graduate in 2011. He has some lofty goals going into his senior year of high school. He wants to help the Patriots improve on their 6-6 (4-1) record to win the conference and he wants to make sure that that beat their rivals.

"I want to play like a 5-star, and I want to be the number one safety in the nation," said Martin.

Martin estimated that about thirty schools are showing him early interest with an offer already on the table from the University of Minnesota.

His favorites right now consist of Clemson, Georgia Tech, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Florida State, and Miami in no specific order.

Martin models his game after the late, great Sean Taylor and current New Orleans Saint Darren Sharper.
